The Sigurd Frosterus Collection, edited by Sofia Aittomaa, presents a unique exploration of post-impressionist painting and its significance in both Finnish and international art history. Assembled by Sigurd Frosterus (1876-1956), the collection reflects its creator's deep understanding of modern art and his contemporaries.
Essays by Susanna Pettersson, Kimmo Sarje and Sofia Aittomaa examine art collecting, Sigurd Frosterus's views on art, and the evolution of his collection. The book also includes detailed presentations of artworks in the Sigurd Frosterus Foundation collection.
